Thailand is to host the 24th transportation meeting of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum this week to discuss obstacles to regional transportation and the enforcement of transportation security measures.

The Ministry of Transport is to act as the host of the 24th meeting of the 21-member APEC Transportation Working Group on Aug.16-20, reported the Thai News Agency Sunday.

Participants at the meeting will exchange information, work to expand transportation links within the Asia-Pacific region, promote transportation security measures, and address various issues relating to obstacles to regional transportation, with the aim of boosting regional trade and tourism.

The meeting of the working group will be divided up into three steering committees, each of which will be made up of experts on various transportation-related topics.
