Sony shifts its hope to China from India

Sony has realized it has made a wrong decision on investment in India where its performance was getting worse. By contrast, Sony China declared that Sony would add another 200 million USD into its China operation, making its investment in China reach more than 1 billion USD.

Sony has adjusted its global strategy by reducing the number of its plants to 50 from 70. But China is the exception. Sony recognizes the incomparable advantages of China market in consumption potential and manufacturing conditions. The company has one-third of its total investment in production in Asia areas out of its home country Japan. And China has absorbed a quarter of its total global investment.
