Final of the 3rd Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students to be held

The 3rd Chinese Bridge����Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students, organized by the State Group of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language and China National Office of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (NOCFL), will be held in Beijing from August 7 to 12. With the theme of "China, a Country with a Splendid Culture", this competition aims at showcasing the splendid history and culture of the country and helping the world understand more about it." Seventy-five excellent students, winners in the preliminary rounds, from 39 countries including the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Australia, Egypt and South Africa will demonstrate their Chinese capability in the hometown of Chinese.

There will be three first prizes, five second prizes and seven third prizes. The winners will receive awards like the honorable title of "Envoy of the Chinese Language" and "Chinese Bridge" scholarships to study in China. From August 8 to 12, the final contestants will take part in the final competition in 5 groups. Each group will have 16 contestants. This year's competition has received wide support and active cooperation from 51 embassies in the country. It is acknowledged and appraised unanimously by Chinese teaching organizations, teachers and students across the world as well as overseas Chinese. It has wide impacts on the world.
