Chinese senior leaders Tuesday called on party cadres and policeman all over the country to learn from the excellent deeds of Ren Changxia, former director of the public security bureau in Dengfeng City, central China's Henan Province.
Ren was killed at 40 in a car accident on April 14 this year while probing a criminal case. During her 21-year career, she was honored as "national outstanding policewoman" and "national model worker".
"I don't have a single mishandled case under my responsibility,since I am working very hard," Ren herself was quite confident in work before her death.
Over 200,000 local residents of Dengfeng gathered at the funeral to mourn her death.
President Hu Jintao said he was quite impressed by Ren's influence among the public, adding that she had always carried in her mind the tenet of "serving people heart and soul" and set a good example for all party cadres in law enforcement.
Premier Wen Jiabao called on policemen and officials in various political and law enforcement departments to follow the example of Ren Changxia and to make more contributions to the country and people through implementing the important thoughts of "Three Represents".
Luo Gan, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, also praised Ren as an outstanding representative of the police, with her deep love for the public and utter hatred of criminals.
A report meeting on the outstanding deeds of Ren Changxia was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing Tuesday. More than 800 people, including government officials and representatives from all walks of life in this capital city, attended the meeting.
