Chinese president meets former Mexican PresidentChinese President Hu Jintao met in Boao Saturday with former Mexican President Ernesto Zedillo Ponce De Leon. Hu met Zedillo after delivering a keynote speech and answering questions at the opening ceremony of the annual conference 2004 ofthe Boao Forum for Asia (BFA). Zedillo attended the opening meeting of the BFA session, which was held at Boao Township in thesouthernmost island province of Hainan. Hu expressed his appreciation for the former Mexican president's contribution to the promotion of Sino-Mexican ties. China is willing to enrich the contents of Sino-Mexican strategic partnership and push forward the overall development of bilateral ties, Hu said. On bilateral cooperation in the process of economic globalization, Hu said that the development of economic globalization will stimulate the flow of goods, technology and capital and the economic ties will draw all countries of the worldeven closer. "That not only brings along important opportunities for all thecountries, but also unleash severe challenges to the developing countries," Hu said. As developing countries, China and Mexico are actively coping with the challenges resulting from economic globalization. Mexico initiated a unique development model and accumulated many good experience. "China and Mexico should enhance exchange, learn from each other and pursue common development," Hu said. The friendly cooperation between Mexico and China made rapid progress in recent years and the prospect was promising.
