Trading of technological property rights gets brisk

Trading of technological property rights has been getting brisk across China since 1999 when Shanghai technological property right exchange, the country's first professional marketplace of technological property rights, was launched.

Up to now, the number of the organizations specialized in trading of technological property rights in the country has exceeded 40, said sources from a two-day national symposium on trading of technological property rights that came to a close on Friday in Dalian, a port city in northeast China's Liaoning Province.

And business deals struck at the markets for trading of technological property rights across the country shot to 88.4 billion yuan (10.65 billion US dollars) in 2002 from 26.8 billion yuan (about 3.23 billion US dollars) in 1995, according to Huang Wei, a senior official with Development Plan Division of the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology, also the organizer of the symposium.
