Enterprises not optimistic about Taiwan authorities opening 'three direct links'

The survey conducted from March 26 to 31 by Taiwan 111 Human Resources Company shows that over 50 percent enterprises in Taiwan are not optimistic about the opening of cross-Strait ��three direct links�� by Taiwan authorities in the coming four years, and the index of their confidence in Taiwan��s future economic development is as low as 57.84 points. It is believed that there have appeared more uncertain factors for Taiwan��s future economic development.

The survey conducted from March 26 to 31 by Taiwan 111 Human Resources Company shows that over 50 percent enterprises in Taiwan are not optimistic about the opening of cross-Strait "three direct links" by Taiwan authorities in the coming four years, and the index of their confidence in Taiwan's future economic development is as low as 57.84 points. It is believed that there have appeared more uncertain factors for Taiwan's future economic development.

It is reported that the survey was conducted in the form of network questionnaire, and 1,252 effective answers were received from the respondents.

The survey also shows that more than half of the enterprises hold that they will adjust their business tactics or wait and see after March 20. Over 40 percent enterprises consider shifting the focus of their investment outward, among them, 26.33 percent decide to move their investment to the mainland. 60 percent enterprises regard the "three direct links", if realized, will be beneficial to the development of Taiwan's industries.
