Pakistan's nuclear assets in safe hands: PM

Pakistani Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali said Saturday that Pakistan's nuclear assets and nuclear program were in safe hands and as such there was no threat to it, the Associated Press of Pakistan reported.

Pakistani Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali said Saturday that Pakistan's nuclear assets and nuclear program were in safe hands and as such there was no threat to it, the Associated Press of Pakistan reported.

Talking to reporters in southern city of Larkana of Sindh province, Jamali dispelled all such speculations about the country's nuclear program, terming them as disinformation.

When asked about reported arrest of nuclear scientists, the prime minister said, "it is totally wrong."

Five nuclear scientists and senior officials of Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) were picked up on last Saturday for questioning amid the ongoing probe into allegations of transferring of nuclear technology to other countries.

Last month, Four nuclear scientists of KRL including Dr Khan were detained after Iran indicated that some Pakistanis helped them in carrying out the country's nuclear program.
