A center for disease prevention and control has been set up in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region.
The center is responsible for drawing up the related regulations, rules and standards on disease prevention and control and public health, and offering technological assistance to resolve such problems as spread of diseases, poisoning and pollution.
The center is also duty bound to conduct checks on the outbreakof infectious and chronic diseases.
The establishment of the center will promote the development of medical sciences in the region, said the director of the center.
