The International Olympic Committee(IOC) said Thursday that the nine applicant cities for the 30th Olympic Games in 2012 would return the questionnaire.
Paris of France, Leipzig of Germany, New York of the United States, Moscow of Russia, Istanbul of Turkey, Havana of Cuba, London of Britain, Madrid of Spain, and Rio de Janeiro of Brazil will run to convert from an "applicant city" to a "candidate city".
The questionnaire, which contains all the useful information in relation to the cities' reasons for organising the Games, will enable the IOC Executive Board to check that the applicant cities have submitted a file that is in line with the responsibilities set out by the IOC.
The decision on the list of candidate cities will be taken at the IOC Executive Board meeting on May 18, 2004 in Lausanne.
The election of the host city of the 30th Olympics will be held during the IOC Session in July 2005 in Singapore.
