An explosion and fire in a factory block at an industrial park in central Singapore killed four people Tuesday and injured two more in what looked like an industrial mishap, officials said.
"There was an explosion but as to the cause we have to investigate," a spokesman for the Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) said. "We discovered four bodies inside and separately conveyed two casualties to hospital."
The fire broke out in a structure with a layout similar to a block of flats, used by many small light industrial companies in land-scarce Singapore.
"We do not suspect any terrorist action," a police spokesman said.
