The People's Daily carries a lengthy signed article on Tuesday that outlines the new ideas and viewpoints the Communist Party of China Central Committee made public during the past year. According to the 6,400-character signed article, the central committee with Hu Jintao as its general secretary has reiterated time and again and explained in detail some important ideas and viewpoints during the past year, which lifted the Party's understanding to a new level.
They include calling for all-around, coordinated and sustainable development, stressing pragmatism in political records, the view of human resources as the No. 1 resource, and the view that the power of the governments should be used for the general public, and government officials should love, and strive to work for the general public.
The article described the viewpoints as ideologically profound and very useful in practical work, saying they will guide the country in its bid to build a well-off society.
