Brzezinski: Big powers inter-dependent
Former US national Security Advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski said Thursday in Beijing that big powers today are more cooperative on security matters than at any time in history.
Former US national Security Advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski said Thursday in Beijing that big powers today are more cooperative on security matters than at any time in history.
In a speech in Beijing, he noted though the United States is the only super power in the world, it still needs to cooperate with other big powers in dealing with international affairs.
He said the experience of the past two years show unilateralism is a passing phenomenon labeling it "too expansive" and "too damaging".
On the Taiwan question, Brzezinski said the US has reached a consensus with China, namely, there's only one China, and the division across the Taiwan Straits needs to be addressed with peaceful means.
He noted the US doesn't support unilateral actions aimed at Taiwan independence and opposes any actions that may create trouble for Sino-US ties.
