New chairman of All-China Youth Federation elected

Zhao Yong has been elected chairmanof the All-China Youth Federation (ACYF), to replace Sun Jinlong, who is now a member of the Standing Committee of the Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) of Anhui Province, in east China.

Zhao, who was previously a deputy chairman of the federation, was elected to the position at a meeting of the Fifth Standing Committee of the Ninth ACYF.

The meeting also approved proposals to establish two new departments for the federation -- one for overseas students' affairs and the other for students who have returned from overseas study.
