US foreign expert Engst Erwin dies at 85 in China
Engst Erwin, an expert from the United States and consultant with China's former Ministry of Machine-Building Industry, died of lung infection and function failure of organs in Beijing on Dec. 25, 2003, at the age of 85.
Engst Erwin, an expert from the United States and consultant with China's former Ministry of Machine-Building Industry, died of lung infection and function failure of organs in Beijing on Dec. 25, 2003, at the age of 85.
Erwin, born on Nov. 9, 1918, came to work in China in 1946. He had been engaged in upgrading farm tools, stockbreeding technologyand English editing work. In 1982, he became an adviser to the former Ministry of Machine-Building Industry, and was honored with the title of "veteran foreign expert" by the State Council in 1984.
