China to respond to trade disputes with WTO rules: MOC official

Resorting to the rules and mechanism of the World Trade Organization (WTO) China will effectively respond to trade disputes, seriously deal with and resolve various kinds of trade frictions, according to official with Ministry of Commerce.

Resorting to the rules and mechanism of the World Trade Organization (WTO) China will effectively respond to trade disputes, seriously deal with and resolve various kinds of trade frictions, according to Yu Guangzhou, Deputy Minister of Commerce at the sixth conference of the Standing Committee of the Tenth National People's Congress held on December 25.

Yu Guangzhou said that China must establish and improve the mechanism in responding to trade disputes and formulate unified response strategy. Against foreign countries' anti-dumping, anti-subsidy, protective measures and special protective measures etc, China must

make active response, direct and coordinate domestic enterprises concerned in responding the accusations, striving for results favorable to the country

strengthen the negotiation and consultation on the issues such as special protective terms, "non-market economy" position, limitation on textiles, safeguard resolutely the interest of the country

better precaution and start from the very beginning, strengthen the instruction on investment and speed up the structural adjustment

give play to the self-discipline of the intermediate organizations, guarantee the operation order of import and export, reduce the possibility of foreign country's taking relevant measures;

strengthen studies on the WTO rules, and speed up developing the talents' expertise for dealing with trade disputes and resolve them properly in line with the WTO trade dispute resolution mechanism.

In the future China will continue to well practice anti-dumping, anti-subsidy and protective measures against import, protect reasonably the security of domestic industries and market. China will establish and make perfect an overall precaution system of import and export and the precaution mechanism against industrial damage to provide scientific basis and effective measures for reasonably protecting domestic market and safeguarding national economic security.
