Mother's latest mission gives others ray of hope

Linda Wells, an American mother of a critically ill child adopted from China, has once again found support in her fight to save her daughter and other aplastic anemia patients.

Road accident kills 5, injures 11 in NE China

A major road accident killed five people and injured 11 at 2:15 a.m. Monday on an expressway between Changchun and Jilin in northeast China's Jilin Province. A passenger bus carrying some 30 passengers crashed into a truck ahead. The bus driver and four passengers died at the scene. Most of the passengers were businessmen who went to Changchun City, capital of Jilin, to replenish their stock. All the injured were hospitalized and doctors said four of them were in a critical condition.

Hu Jintao meets with Bill Clinton

China and the US should enhance their exchanges and cooperation, President Hu Jintao said during a meeting with former US president Bill Clinton Monday. Hu said the two countries, as the world's two influential powers, share broad common interests despite some differences between them.

Clinton speaks on AIDS Summit

Former US President Bill Clinton, who has used his influence to push for the global prevention and control of HIV/AIDS since leaving the White House, attended the international seminar on HIV/AIDS and SARS in Tsinghua on Monday. He delivered a speech on global HIV/AIDS prevention and control efforts.
