Chinese Defense Minister Meets Mozambique Guests
Chinese Defense Minister Cao Gangchuan met in Beijing Wednesday with Lagos Lidimo, chief of the general staff of the armed forces of Mozambique, and his party.
Chinese Defense Minister Cao Gangchuan met in Beijing Wednesday with Lagos Lidimo, chief of the general staff of the armed forces of Mozambique, and his party.
Cao, also a state councilor and vice-chairman of China's Central Military Commission, said the Chinese and Mozambique peoples have a profound friendship.
The exchanges of high-level visits between the two sides, including by senior military officials, have promoted mutual trustand strengthened cooperation between the two sides, he said.
China is willing to make joint efforts with Mozambique to promote the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries and their armed forces, he said.
Lidimo said China has become an important force for safeguarding world peace.
Mozambique has received lots of assistance from China for its economic development and military construction, he stressed.
He said the people of Mozambique are grateful to the Chinese people for their support.
