The Macao Nano-Tech Research Institute will bring its latest research fruit -- analgesic toothpaste to the mainland market before the end of this year, which is fluorine free.
Macao News Daily reported Saturday that the institute has applied a patent for the product from the State Intellectual Property Office, and plans to give an initial exposure of the toothpaste in a trade fair in Shunde City in south China's Guangdong Province at the end of August.
According to the research, the nano-tech toothpaste can eliminate over 90 percent of mutated streptococcus, lactic acid bacteria and actinoid bacteria in oral cavity, which cause decayedtooth. Most toothpaste currently available on the market depends on fluorine ingredient to reinforce the tooth anti-decaying ability. The fluorine, however, does not kill the bacteria, and over-dosed fluorine may lead to fluorine poisoning.
The institute said that the product can be used for both decayed-tooth treatment and prevention.
