A truck carrying chemical liquid burst into flames at 8:34 p.m.last Friday at the Harbin Paint Plant as two workers were unloading it, causing injuries to seven people working in the vicinity, five of whom suffered serious burns.
The injured were sent to the Harbin No. 5 Hospital, where they are still receiving treatment.
The blaze lasted three hours before it was extinguished by firefighters at 11:30 p.m., causing a direct economic loss of about 100,000 yuan (12,000 US dollars).
Police said that Qi Huiping, the renter of the factory, is now at large.
