Bainqen Erdini Qoigyijabu, the 11th Panchen Lama, concluded an 11-day tour of Qinghai Province, northwest China, on Wednesday.
At a farewell party Tuesday night, the Panchen Lama said he wished for the people of Qinghai to enjoy stable lives, a prosperous economy and unity among the different ethnic minorities and for them to advance on the road to socialism with Chinese characteristics under the leadership of the Communist Party of China.
During his stay in Qinghai, the 11th Panchen Lama visited Xining, the provincial capital, Haidong Prefecture, the Tibetan autonomous prefectures of Hainan and Haibei and the Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Haixi. He presided over several religious activities, praying for longevity and happiness for both believers and ordinary people.
The 11th Panchen Lama also visited Golmud, a city built in the desert, the Qinghai-Tibet railway project site and an oil refinery in Golmud to have a better understanding of local economic development.
