The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)'s Mount Geumgang tour resumed Wednesday with 520 South Korean tourists taking a cruise to the resort.

The tour project suspended for one week at the request of DPRK 's Korea Asia-Pacific Peace Committee as a gesture of mourning thedeath of Hyundai Asan Chairman Chung Mong-hun.

Hyundai President Kim Yoon-kyu also headed for the DPRK resort along with other 10 company officials on Wednesday to discuss the resumption of overland tours to Mount Geumgang and other pending issues with DPRK officials, reported South Korean national news agency Yonhap News.

The four-day visit is the first trip by Hyundai Asan officials since the Aug. 4 suicide of Chairman Chung Mong-hun.

The overland tour for Mount Geumgang opened in this February, but halted for the bad condition of the inter-Korean eastern temporary road.
