Three Workers Dead in Building Collapse in Xiamen

A factory building under construction in southeastern China's coastal city of Xiamen collapsed at about 6:00 p.m. Saturday, and three construction workers have been confirmed dead.

A factory building under construction in southeastern China's coastal city of Xiamen collapsed at about 6:00 p.m. Saturday, and three construction workers have been confirmed dead.

Local resources said over 80 workers were buried in the debris.Up to 10:00 p.m., 43 people had been rescued and rushed to hospital. Among them, three died.

The death toll may rise as rescuing excavation goes on.

When the accident occurred, about 40 workers managed to escape the site safely.
