Supervising teams organized by five ministries are to inspect land lease markets in 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, sources with the Ministry of Land and Resources said on Tuesday.

The Ministry of Land and Resources, the State Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Supervision, the Ministry of Construction and the National Audit Office will send ten supervising teams to inspect local government land lease systems across the country beginning August 8.

The two-month supervising project aims to inspect administration of development zones nationwide, lease-trading mechanisms, and operation of land administrations at various levels.

Land and Resources Minister Tian Fengshan said at a meeting on Tuesday that supervising teams should visit land to be leased and carefully listen to local residents' opinions pertaining to land trading and transfer.
