Figo, who gave his preferred right side to the new coming David Beckham, played in the left of the midfield and showed some fine touches along with other superstars.
After squandering many chances, Real finally rewarded Chinese fans' enthusiasm of the nine-time European champions. Ronaldo crossed just outside of the box in the left for Figo to score from10 meters.
Beckham, playing his first match for Real Madrid, took the place of Roberto Carlos for the team's two freekicks. But one was stopped by Chinese 'keeper Jiang Hong and the other was just inches wide of the left post.
