A Large Ancient Pottery Discovered in Inner Mongolia

Picture taken on June 5, 2003 shows a chinaware unearthed from a city of ancient China's Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368) at the village of Tuchengzi in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Archaeologists have unearthed a large number of pottery, copper, ironwares, bone objects, coins and especially chinawares from the digging site and deduced that it was a starting point of ancient China's Silk Road. Navigation through the Three Gorges Area along China's Yangtze River resumed Monday as the four mile-long ship lock went into trial operation. The five-stage permanent ship lock has a drop of over 60 meters.
