The US Trade and Development Agency has announced the year 2002 was the year of China.
Agency Director Thelma J. Askey highly commended the great achievement made by the two countries last year in promoting mutual investment and trade.
Askey hoped to enhance the cooperation with China and expand it to more fields such as health and medicine, machinery, telecommunication and IT.
Also attending the ceremony was the Chinese Ambassador to the US Yang Jiechi. Yang said bilateral trade cooperation will face greater opportunities of development while China takes the initiative to fulfill its commitment to the WTO and speeds up its economic construction. He says governments and enterprises in both countries should continue to push forward the bilateral trade cooperation. (CRI News)
