Perpetrator of Poisoning Executed in Zhejiang

A 42-year-old man was executed in east China's Zhejiang Province Thursday for poisoning foodstuffs in a supermarket.

A 42-year-old man was executed in east China's Zhejiang Province Thursday for poisoning foodstuffs in a supermarket.

According to the Zhejiang Intermediate People's Court, Zhong Qin, a former employee of the No. 2 Department Store in Jinhua City, carrid out the crime as an act of revenge against one of the supermarket managers, with whom he had had a personal dispute.

To resolve the dispute, Zhong had written letters to the administrative department of the supermarket complaining about Jia,but received no response. Thus, Zhong decided to poison foodstuffs in the supermarket to create problems for Jia.

On April 20, 2002, Zhong obtained a syringe from a medical worker and bought some yogurt and two boxes of chocolate from the supermarket. After injecting the liquid rat poison into the items,he returned them to the supermarket. The next day, Yang Minghua, acustomer, bought the food, which poisoned his two sons and himself.
