DPRK Urges US to Drop Hostile Policy in Talks
The United States should first abandon its hostile policy toward the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) to make the DPRK-US talks underway in Beijing fruitful, the Korean Central News Agency said in a commentary on Thursday.
The United States should first abandon its hostile policy toward the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) to make the DPRK-US talks underway in Beijing fruitful, the Korean Central News Agency said in a commentary on Thursday.
"The US should show its political will to make a bold switchover in its hostile policy toward the DPRK and prove it in practice. This is the master key to making the talks fruitful to satisfy the expectations and concern of the international community," the commentary said.
The DPRK and the United States started talks on Wednesday, the first of its kind since the nuclear crisis on the Korean Peninsula erupted last October.
The nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula is a product of the US hostile policy toward the DPRK, and therefore "and end to the hostile relations is the most important condition for the settlement of the issue," the commentary added.
