Nigeria and China agreed Tuesday in Abuja to share experience in the exploration and development of the former's coal deposits.
Nigerian Minister of Solid Minerals Development Dupe Adelaja made the announcement when she met a delegation from the China Heavy Machinery Corporation.
During the meeting, she said that the two nations would find ways to establish a "joint venture" in coal power-driven plant as well as small-scale industries such as a coal briquette making company.
She also expressed satisfaction with China's long tradition of expertise in the activation of small-scale industries worldwide.
While saying that Nigeria, with its abundant human and natural resources, remained an investor's delight, Adelaja urged China to woo more of its investors to Nigeria's mining sector.
In a speech, Zhu Xu, leader of the Chinese delegation, reiterated the readiness of China to cooperate with Nigeria in boosting its coal industry.
