QualComm, the world's leading developer of CDMA technology, signed an authorization agreement Tuesday with a Chinese company in northeastern China's Dalian City.

According to the agreement, the Dalian Huanyu Mobile Technologies Ltd. will be allowed to use QualComm's patented CDMA technology to manufacture CDMA equipment and sell related products both at home and abroad.

US-based QualComm is supposed to permit the Chinese telecom company to employ QualComm-developed CDMA standards in making CDMA systems and CDMA handsets.

An executive with the Chinese company said the deal will promote CDMA business on the Chinese market and overseas market as well.
