An international fair on knives and scissors is scheduled for April 24-28 in Yangjiang city of south China's Guangdong Province.
This second such fair to be staged in Yangjiang will be jointly held by the Yangjiang municipal government and the Guangdong Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade.
More than 1,900 business people from China and overseas have registered to attend the fair, at which various knives, scissors, raw materials and related equipment, as well as manufacturing technologies will be exhibited and traded, according to the organizers.
Yangjiang has a long history of making knives and scissors and related equipment, and now produces about 60 percent of China's total output and contributes 80 percent to the country's export value of knives and scissors.
The first fair, which was held on June 2-5 last year, attracted delegates from more than 300 firms across the world, with the total trade and contract volume exceeding 9.7 billion yuan (about 1.17 billion US dollars), statistics showed.
