Han Yuqun elected Governor of Shandong Province

Han Yuqun was elected governor of Shandong province, in east China, at the first session of the Standing Committee of the 10th Shandong Provincial People's Congress (SPPC) Thursday.

Han Yuqun was elected governor of Shandong province, in east China, at the first session of the Standing Committee of the 10th Shandong Provincial People's Congress (SPPC) Thursday.

Han, born in September of 1943, is a native of Suining in neighboring Jiangsu province. Before being elected the provincial governor Thursday afternoon, he had served as Shandong's deputy governor and acting governor.

Also during the first session of the 10th SPPC, Han, in his capacity as acting governor, delivered a work report of the Shandong provincial government, noting that his provincial government will, apart from fulfilling other tasks, work hard to increase the income of farmers in the next five years.
