Schoolchildren's Safety Day Marked

Over 30 cities around China held various activities Monday, to mark the eighth National Day of Education on the Safety of Elementary and Middle School Students.

Over 30 cities around China held various activities Monday, to mark the eighth National Day of Education on the Safety of Elementary and Middle School Students.

Government officials joined teachers and parents in a lecture on the safety of schoolchildren, at the Dengshikou Elementary School, in central Beijing.

At the class, students were told how to deal with various dangerous situations.

The program has been jointly initiated by from the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Youth League, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Public Security, and the National Committee on the Work of Children.

It is aimed to help increase children's self-protection abilities, the public sense of responsibility for preventing accidents, and preventing accidents involving children.
