US Launches 30 Tomahawk Cruise Missiles into Iraq
The United States navy launched 30 Tomahawk cruise missiles into Iraq in the past 24 hours, a spokeswoman of the USS Kitty Hawk aircraft carrier said on Friday morning.

Of the total, 20 missiles were fired from the Mediterranean, 10 were from the Gulf, said Nicole Kratzer, a public affairs officer of the aircraft carrier. The targets were Iraqi leadership buildings and commanding control centers, she added.
On Thursday, a total of 47 sorties were launched from the Kitty Hawk aircraft carrier, including 20 strike missions, Kratzersaid.
Ten F/A-18 Hornet fighters and F-14 Tomcat fighters dropped 23bombs in Iraq, including 16 laser-guided bombs with the weight of 1000 pounds, four JSOWs (Joint Stand-off weapons) and 3 dumb bombs,each 1000 pounds, she said.
The targets included banks, helicopters and Iraqi buildings between Baghdad and Karbala, 80 kms south of the Iraqi capital, she added.
