Nine People Die in Two Fires in Manila

Nine people were killed in two fires in Metro Manila early Saturday, the Philippine News Agency reported.

Nine people were killed in two fires in Metro Manila early Saturday, the Philippine News Agency reported.

A mother and her four children died in a fire that broke out inMakati, Metro Manila, in the early hours of the day, it said.

About half an hour later, another fire happened in Caloocan in the capital region, killing four members of a family, it said.

The causes of the two blazes are still under investigation.
