Chinese Amateur Expedition to Attempt on Mount Qomolangma
An advance team of China's first amateur mountaineering expedition left Lhasa Thursday for the world's highest peak, 8,848-meter Mount Qomolangma, of the Himalayas which locate at the China-Nepal border.

The amateur expedition would launch its attempts on the peak sometime in May, pending on the local weather conditions.
Among the 40-plus members are such climbing fans as company's CEO, general manager, chairman of board of directors, IT engineer,college teacher, bank employee and government functionary. Their ages range from 33 to 52 years.
The team is led by Wang Yongfeng, the deputy secretary-general of the Chinese Mountaineering Association, who had scaled the highest peaks of the world's seven continents.
The expedition on Mt. Qomolangma is launched for the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the peak's scale by human being.
The amateur expedition will go to the base camp at the foot of the mountains in four groups and climbing would start on April 10.The expedition has planned two separate attempts on the peak in May.
