Six US F-117 stealth fighters arrived Gunsan Air Base, some 300 kilometers southwest of Seoul, on Friday to participate in a joint South Korea-US military exercise.
According to local US troops television channel AFN, the fighters will attend the South Korea-US RSOI (Reception, Staging, Onward Movement and Integration) war games slated on March 19-26.
The US troops here denied the report that the dispatch of the F-117 fighters to South Korea has connection with the growing tension over nuclear issue of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea(DPRK).
The two allies kicked off the Foal Eagle military exercise last Tuesday.
The F-117 Nighthawk employs a variety of weapons, including GBU-27 laser-guided bombs and AGM-65 Maverick air-to-surface guided missiles.
