A train carrying an empty nuclear flask came partially off the tracks in southwest England on Thursday, local reports said.
"The front set of wheels of a freight train locomotive derailed," said a British Transport Police spokesman, adding that rail inspectors has begun investigating the accident.
The flask remained upright and intact when the front of the train derailed on entering a depot in Bridgwater, about 100 miles west of London, local police said.
The train was operated by the state-owned nuclear firm, British Nuclear Fuels Ltd. (BNFL). So far, no further details were available.
A similar accident happened last June in Britain when a train carrying an empty nuclear flask crashed into a lorry at a level crossing in Kent, southeast England.
