A man who claimed to have a bomb and intruded the Beijing bureau office of Reuters in eastern Beijing Wednesday morning was captured and the bomb was found a hoax, police sources said.

The intruder, who is identified by Beijing police as Fang Qinghui and a native of Yichun, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, remained in the newsroom on his own while some armed police massed outside.

A Reuters staff called the police immediately and the Chinese police rushed to the mansion five minutes after the call. All Reuters staffs have evacuated to the mansion lobby.

Witness says the intruder, aged around 30, is wearing a black jacket and carrying a black bag with him. In his hand, he holds something like a igniting equipment, with the fuse being left outside the bag. From the accent, the intruder is probably from northeast China.
