Guangdong LNG Project Contracts Signed

Guangdong Province came a step nearer to establishing its liquefied natural gas (LNG) project Saturday with the signing of three contracts covering the terminaljoint venture, sales with users in Guangdong and Hong Kong and transportation.

Guangdong Province came a step nearer to establishing its liquefied natural gas (LNG) project Saturday with the signing of three contracts covering the terminaljoint venture, sales with users in Guangdong and Hong Kong and transportation.

The contracts represent a milestone in the implementation of China's pilot LNG imports from Australia.

The first phase of the terminal is scheduled for completion in May 2006 and will be put into operation two months later. During the first phase, China will import 3.5 million tons of natural gasper year from Australia.
