Suspect of Beijing University Blasts Sent to Beijing
Chinese police brought to Beijing on Saturday afternoon the seized man suspected to have set off explosions on the campus of two Beijing-based prestigious universities on Feb. 25.
The Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau announced Saturday the man suspected to have set off explosions on the campus of two prestigious universities in Beijing on February 25 was seized in Fuzhou, capital of east China's Fujian Province, early Saturday morning.
The suspect, Huang Minxiang, was sent to Beijing at 13:55 Saturday by the police on flight No.1506 from Fuzhou to Beijing, said an official with the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau.
Huang was seized in Fuzhou, capital of east China's Fujian Province, at 00:20 am Saturday. Huang works in Qiongshan City of Haikou in south China's Hainan Province. A native of Fuzhou City, Huang was born in 1976.
The suspect has confessed all he had done in the two explosions. The police are investigating into why and how he had made the blasts and other details.
Two blasts rocked the respective cafeterias on the campus of Beijing and Qinghua universities in Beijing at noon on Feb. 25, injuring nine students and staff altogether.
After the explosions, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council showed great concern to the incident, ordering the public security organs to solve the case as soon as possible.
Under the coordination of the Ministry of Public Security, Beijing police set up a special group and made investigations at the spots of the two explosions and finally narrowed the search scope to Fuzhou, the homeland of the suspect.
The police in Beijing and Fuzhou combined their efforts in around-the-clock investigations after the explosions and arrested the suspect at 00:20 am Saturday.
The suspect has confessed all he had done in the two explosions.The police are investigating into why and how he had made the blasts and other details.
