The United States is seeking the inclusion of three Indonesians detained in the Philippines in the United Nations' list of foreign terrorists, sources of the Indonesian embassy in Manila disclosed Tuesday.

The United States will submit evidence to the UN to support itsrequest to list as terrorists the three Indonesians -- Fathur Rohman al-Ghozi, Agus Dwikarna and Oscar Makawata, the sources said.

The three men have been identified as members of the Indonesia-based Jemaah Islamiyah (JI), labeled by the UN as a foreign terrorist organization allegedly behind last October's Bali bombings that claimed almost 190 lives.

Washington is also asking other countries, including the Philippines, to submit the same request to the UN, the sources said.

Al-Ghozi and Dwikarna, who were arrested separately last year, have been convicted of illegal possession of explosives. Makawata, arrested for violation of immigration laws and on suspicion of having links to bombings in the southern Philippines, has not beenbe convicted of any crime yet.

The Philippine police said al-Ghozi had admitted to his involvement in a series of bombings in Metro Manila on Dec. 30, 2000 that left more than 20 people dead. His arrest led to the seizure of more than one ton of explosives in the southern city ofGeneral Santos.
