Luo Gan Sends Season's Greetings to Beijing's Police
Luo Gan, secretary of the Political and Legislative Affairs Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, on behalf of the Central Committee of the CPC as well as the State Council sent lunar new year greetings to the police and armed police of the capital city Monday.
Luo, who is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said being a police officer was a fine but dangerous occupation. Every year, some police and armed police die or are injured in the line of duty.
He said China's current stable political and social situation should be attributed to the hard work of the country's policemen and armed policemen.
He made the remarks while visiting and offering condolences to the wife and son of Jiang Geqing, a Beijing policeman who died on active service last year.
Luo also visited the Beijing Public Security Bureau, and Hepingli police station as well as the headquarters of the Beijing Armed Police Corp on Monday.
