Happy Lijiang

The party with the theme "Happy Lijiang" was held on the natural stage --- the surface of the Lijiang River, near the Elephant Trunk Peak. At the confluence of the Lijiang and Yangjiang rivers, a rock hill with hole in it, which gives the rock the appearance of an elephant sipping water with its trunk, so it is named. (Xinhua)

Chinese Wang Collects First 3 Golds at Weightlifting Worlds

China's Wang Mingjuan lifts 115.5kg in the clean and jerk competition setting a new world record in women's 48kg category at the 15th Women's World Weightlifting Championships in Warsaw, Nov. 19, 2002. New Archaeological Discovery in Henan

An archaeologist cleans up a pit, where 12 immolated horses were buried alive, during a salvaging excavation of tumuli in Linzhou, central China's Henan Province, Nov. 18, 2002. A set of chimes from the Warring States period (475-221 B.C.) was unearthed by archaeologists from the Relics Administrative Office in Linzhou. They have so far discovered over 440 tumuli and unearthed more than 2,200 pieces of relics. (Xinhua)
