Chinese top legislator Li Peng metin Beijing on Wednesday with a Greek judiciary delegation, headed by Stefanos Matthias, president of the Supreme People's Court of Greece.

Chinese top legislator Li Peng metin Beijing on Wednesday with a Greek judiciary delegation, headed by Stefanos Matthias, president of the Supreme People's Court of Greece.

Li, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People'sCongress (NPC), said Sino-Greek relations had developed smoothly since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two nations30 years ago. Judiciary exchanges and cooperation had contributed to friendly bilateral relations and development. This visit, joined by three top Greek judiciary officials, indicated that Sino-Greek cooperation in the judiciary field was very close.

Matthias said although Greece was a small nation, it valued peace, friendship and cooperation as well as international exchanges in the judiciary area. Greece favoured multi-polarization, which would benefit world peace. Greece was impressed by China's development and hoped the two countries couldfurther strengthen exchanges and cooperation to benefit both peoples.
