Chinese Volunteers Head for Vietnam

A group of 15 Chinese youth volunteers left east China's city of Nanning Monday for Lang Son Province in Vietnam where they will provide free medical care for local residents.

Chinese Volunteers Head for Vietnam
A group of 15 Chinese youth volunteers left east China's city of Nanning Monday for Lang Son Province in Vietnam where they will provide free medical care for local residents.

The volunteers from four hospitals in Guangxi Zhuang AutonomousRegion were the first youth volunteer corps sent abroad by China, according to Yu Yuanhui, head of the regional youth league.

The Chinese volunteers, together with 15 Vietnamese doctors, will go to nine townships in three counties of Lang Son from June 4 to 8 dispensing treatment.

The activity is part of the 2002 China-Vietnam youth border friendly exchange program.

In exchange, a Vietnamese youth delegation will visit the city of Pingxiang in south China's Guangxi on June 9 and 10 to attend a drug awareness event,among other activities.
