Wearing a necklace pendant in shape of a badminton racket, Chinese sensation Lin Dan said his dream is to become a world and Olympic champion.

Overcoming nervousness and pressure, the 19-year-old displayed a consistent performance which helped him to an unbeaten ride over such big names so far at the Thomas Cup, including Denmark's former world champion and newly-crowned European champion Peter Rasmussen and South Korea's Shon Seung Mo,

"I am the best," Lin yelled and goes down on knees whenever he wins his game. "That is what my coaches always remind me and what I bear in mind," he explained.

As of entering the Thomas Cup for the first time, Lin said it would not much improve his skills but boost his confidence on the court. "I was nervous before the competition. But when the game gets started, the only thing in my mind is to stick out for every score. I believe I can score more major victories with my experience at the Thomas Cup, and with my shuttlecock racket pendant," Lin said, with a beaming smile on his face.

Lin, who claimed victory at the six-star Korean Open last month, was recruited into the national team two years ago after he snatched a bronze medal at the world youth championships in Guangzhou.

He started earning his credit at international arena since last year when he made to the finals at the Asian championships and Danish Open. A semi-finalist at this year's All England Open, he then crowned in South Korea.

"The necklace has always been with me, reminding and stimulating me to reach my goals. Besides the Thomas Cup trophy, I hope I can win the singles titles at world championships and Olympic Games," he said.
