Cote d'Ivoire President Visits Shanghai

Visiting President of Cote d' Ivoire Laurent Gbagbo on Saturday met with Chen Liangyu, mayor of Shanghai Municipality, in the country's industrial and financial heartland.

Visiting President of Cote d' Ivoire Laurent Gbagbo on Saturday met with Chen Liangyu, mayor of Shanghai Municipality, in the country's industrial and financial heartland.

Chen briefed the guest on Shanghai's economic and social progress in past years as well as its future plans.

Gbagbo said that Shanghai had developed very rapidly in recent years, which impressed him deeply. He hoped Cote d'Ivoire would cooperate further with Shanghai in the future to boost the trade and economic development of both places.

Gbagbo flew in from Hefei, capital of east China's Anhui province, on Saturday evening.
