Chinese Shooter Wins at World Cup

Olympic silver medallist Gao Jing won the women's air rifle 40 shots at the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) World Cup in Shanghai on Monday.

Olympic silver medallist Gao Jing won the women's air rifle 40 shots at the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) World Cup in Shanghai on Monday.

The Chinese shooter, who finished second in the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000, scored a winning total of 501.6 points for the title.

The victory meant that Gao qualified for an event at the AthensOlympic Games in 2004.

South Korean Sun Hwa Seo came second with 500.4 points while another Chinese Du Li placed third with 499.4 points.

Gao scored 400 points in the preliminary round to enter the finals where she registered 101.6 points.

Zhao Yinghui, another Chinese shooter who qualified for the final, ended up 5th with 499.0 points.
